Guest Lecture Series: February – March 2015

The guest lecture series running throughout the month of February and March 2015 will profile industry experts from advertising, marketing communications and branding. Students have the chance to participate in a live brief with a follow-up “Dragons Den” panel where a prize will be awarded to the winning team. Not to be Missed !

Guest Speaker: Graeme Hutchinson – Head of Sky Ad smart

 

Until recently, all viewers of a TV programme on a Sky channel would be forced to view the same advert. As media has become more digital, however, new options have emerged and TV channels have had to respond accordingly. Graeme will be delivering a lecture on Sky AdSmart – a revolutionary new approach to TV advertising. With Sky AdSmart different adverts can be shown to different households watching the same programme.

Guest Speakers:  Rachael Edmondson-Clarke (Senior Marketing Strategy Manager) and Simon Foster (Marketing Director)

 Simon and Racheal are both senior figures at Thorntons and seasoned marketers in FMCG and services. Following a brief history of the company, the talk moves on to address current communication challenges and its strategic shift from retail outlets to FMCG products, focusing on gifting and occasions. Students will be given a live brief by the Thortons team with a follow-up “Dragons Den” panel where a prize will be awarded to the winning team.

The talk is optional for all MAPR Students and compulsory for 3rd year Brand Strategy Students

What drives, inspires and sustains Creativity?

In this 2nd Bucks Adverting Industry lecture, Sir John will be delivering a talk on creativity. Sir John is one of the world’s most awarded and respected admen. For over six decades he has been at the forefront of the creative advertising industry from the early days of Saatchi and Saatchi to Bartle Bogle Hegarty, the global company he runs today. This talk is open to all MAPR students
